About the role

MCS Civil is seeking a talented Accountant to join our team in our Rutherford, NSW office. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting and budgeting functions, ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

What you’ll be doing

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Manage the company’s accounts payable and receivable processes
• Assist with the preparation of the company’s annual budget and monitor budget performance
• Provide financial advice and support to management on strategic decisions
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s accounting and financial processes                                                                                                             The ideal applicant,  we are looking to hear from.

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, with CPA or CA qualification
• Full working rights in Australia
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar management accounting or financial control role, preferably within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in using Xero accounting software,  with strong / advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft products.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
